Bridge construction projects resume in New Jersey
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced construction of a $3 billion bridge project that will connect New York City to New Jersey.
The bridge will be part of a project to widen a section of the Hudson River from New York to Newark.
Christie said the project will be completed in 2018.
The project is part of the $3.3 billion New Jersey Bridge Project, a $20 billion bridge replacement that was approved by Christie last year and is expected to be completed by the end of the decade.
The governor’s announcement came a day after the governor announced the creation of the New Jersey Emergency Operations Center, a new office that will coordinate and monitor the state’s response to the crisis.
