U.S. Coast Guard releases new map showing bridge construction in Chesapeake Bay
The U.A.E. Coast Guardsmen and Engineers Agency (CAFE) released a new aerial imagery map that shows the progress of the construction of the Delaware-based Chesapeake Bridge.
The image shows the area of the bridge in the Chesapeake bay.
The bridge will be the world’s first waterborne crossing of the Great Lakes.
It is the biggest project in U.U.S.-U.K. cooperation.
The project will be completed in 2018.
The project was the brainchild of U.C. Berkeley engineering professor Dr. Thomas A. Schumacher, a member of the U.K.’s National Maritime Archaeological Foundation.
