Why the Kerch Bridge was built
It was supposed to be an iconic bridge in the heart of the city of Baluarte.
But the $1.3 billion project never materialized.
Now, the construction of the bridge is in jeopardy.
The bridge, which was originally built to connect the city’s major population centers, will not be ready to reopen until at least 2019, according to the Baluarta City Council.
The council’s budget committee has scheduled a hearing on the bridge on Monday, with the final date set for March 10.
The hearing is expected to include representatives from Baluartes Chamber of Commerce, Baluartae County Economic Development, and the Balúz City Council, according the council’s website.
It is unclear what the exact timeline is for the project to be finished.
